The Robinson Club Khao Lak – the perfect family holiday…

If you are looking for an ideal family holiday getaway, filled with entertainment for all ages, this is the place to be. The Robinson Club Khao Lak in Thailand is an all-inclusive resort, offering 4 restaurants, 5 bars, 6 swimming pools, a spa, gym, water sports, tennis court, golf course as well as its own private beach.

We enjoyed a 3-night stay at this resort in July 2019 and it was the ideal relaxing break away. As there is so much to do, we didn’t have the need to leave the resort throughout our stay. The management team of the resort strive in connecting with the guests and therefore have daily activities planned for guests to partake in.

We enjoyed most of our meals at the main restaurant, and what a treat! It was buffet style meals, 3 times a day with a wide variety , varying daily to suit every culture, pallet and desire. The resort is quite big and even with our map, unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to see all the types of accommodation they offer such as their villas, bungalows and suites, but we could tell by all the guests staying at the resort, that there is abundant accommodation available.

Some of the activities they offered during our stay were archery courses, cooking classes, pool action water boxing, water polo, beach volleyball, soccer and many more options. One of the nights we attended an all-white cocktail party just before dinner. There were delicious aperitifs as well as entertainment that we enjoyed whilst getting to know other guests staying at the resort. While the adults are being entertained, they have the Roby Club which is their signature Kid’s Club offering fun, creative and active programs to keep the children amused.

We were really impressed with the service of the staff members as they were very well-informed with arranging transport services, renting of motorbikes to explore the surrounding villages, organising snorkelling and diving trips etc. We would certainly recommend this resort to all families travelling together to Thailand.

Weekend escape to the seaside at Tintswalo Atlantic.

Arriving at Tintswalo Atlantic is like entering a remote private paradise. The property is nestled on the cliffs of the famous Chapmans Peak Drive in Table Mountain National Park, Cape Town.

Upon arrival we were warmly greeted with a glass of bubbly each from Melissa and immediately felt like we had been visiting for years.

The welcoming lounge is beautifully decorated and looks out over the ocean towards Hout Bay.

There are 10 suites in total that are all stylishly decorated and themed around different islands. Our suite was the Robben island suite and was a magnificent room, decorated in browns, greens and paying tribute to Nelson Mandela, the first democratically elected president in South Africa. The bathroom was my absolute favorite part about the suite; The colours, décor and large open windows create a beautiful and intimate setting.  Our suite had a beautiful fireplace which was lovely to come back to in the evenings after dinner and enjoy a glass of merlot. The suites are literally right on the ocean, the crashing waves lull you to sleep and waking up with a cup of coffee on your private deck is an absolute Treat.

Breakfast is served on the main deck in the mornings. A large cappuccino and diverse breakfast is the perfect way to start the day, not forgetting the breathtaking views. The hotel staff were so helpful in letting us know of activities available in the area. We booked ourselves a full body massage and  within the privacy of your suite, with the sound of the waves and the skilled therapists, you will feel definitely like a new person afterwards.

The 5-course dinner at Tintswalo was simply superb. The food was creative, well presented and absolutely delicious. With the sun setting over the ocean, fantastic wine and great service, it is an absolute must!

Overall, I can sum up our visit to Tintswalo Atlantic as magical. It truly is the hidden gem of Cape Town. With the location, intimate setting, fine food and the ocean, it is the perfect place to just unwind and take a break from it all. Melissa and Ryno the General Managers were also fantastic hosts and really make you feel like part of the family. You really do feel sad having to say goodbye.

If your goal is to relax and to just enjoy the beauty around you, Tinstwalo Atlantic is the spot.

A modern chic experience at Carana Beach Hotel

As one of the new hotels in the Seychelles, Carana Beach Hotel is certainly expected to raise a new standard in luxury accommodation. Boasting 40 private chalets, it is the only boutique hotel on Mahé’s azure north shore.

The chalets are spacious and stylishly furnished with modern accents and true attention to detail, each with covered decks offering spectacular views that promise to keep you captivated! The bathrooms are marvelously designed to convert into a steaming sauna room, complete with mood lighting and ample seating.

The architects and designers have truly succeeded in integrating the splendour of the Seychelles into the look and feel of the hotel – lying on your bed you can almost feel the gentle waves breaking at your feet as the fresh air breathes through the chalet.

The resort boasts gardens that are not only beautiful but also provide an organic privacy barrier between the chalets, which keeps in line with the resort’s commitment to ecological preservation.

Dinner at Lorizon Restaurant was an absolute delight. With many of the ingredients being regularly flown in from the owners’ Denis Island, and the dinner menu rotating at least 2 dishes every night, it is clear that Food and Beverage Manager, Chia, is dedicated to providing a culinary experience that is fresh in every sense of the word.

Likewise, the aroma of freshly baked croissants set the scene for a breakfast buffet that is laden with delicacies.

The beach bar presents a lovely laid-back atmosphere with live music on certain nights – be sure to try barman Danyl’s very own ‘Le Diz’ cocktail made with spice-infused rum.

“Special compliments to front-of-house team Dean and Martin for tending to our every need, and Public Relations Manager Nicole for creating an authentic Seychelles experience!”
